Product Care

Keep It Running Like New

A few minutes of care every couple of weeks keeps your Emberkins Fountain fresh, clean, and working perfectly.

Daily care

  • Top off the water level as needed — the pump should always be submerged.
  • Rinse the basin with warm water if you notice any debris or pet hair.
  • Keep the fountain on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight.

Weekly cleaning

  1. Unplug the fountain and remove the basin from the base.
  2. Empty any remaining water and rinse the basin with warm water.
  3. Use a soft sponge with mild dish soap to wipe the interior. Avoid abrasive scrubbers.
  4. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
  5. Dry with a clean towel or let air-dry before reassembling.

Filter replacement

Replace the filter every 2 weeks for optimal performance. Signs it's time to change the filter:

  • Water flow seems slower than usual
  • The filter looks discolored or has visible buildup
  • It's been 2 weeks since the last replacement

To replace: twist open the pump compartment, remove the old filter, and insert the new one with the mesh side facing up. Subscribe to auto-delivery and never run out.

Battery care

  • Charge fully before first use (approximately 4 hours for a complete charge).
  • Use only the included USB-C cable and adapter.
  • Avoid letting the battery fully drain — charge when the indicator shows low.
  • If storing for more than a month, charge to 50% before packing away.
  • Keep the charging port dry and clean.

Deep cleaning (monthly)

  1. Disassemble the fountain completely: basin, pump compartment, filter, and impeller.
  2. Soak the basin in warm soapy water for 10 minutes, then scrub gently.
  3. Clean the pump impeller with a small brush (a toothbrush works well).
  4. Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth — never submerge the electronics.
  5. Rinse all parts thoroughly and reassemble once everything is dry.

Dishwasher use

The stainless steel basin is top-rack dishwasher safe. Use a gentle cycle without heated drying. The pump, base, and electronic components are hand-wash only.
